Background: Being able to terminate your own PowerPole or Coax Connectors are very useful skills for all radio amateurs who need to repair a cable or make a new one at home or in the field. SMRA President Ed W3ETO has obtained a donation of Power Pole connectors and cable, Coax RG-8X crimp/solder UHF connectors and coax cable to train SMRA members to make up to 50 PowerPole and 50 coax jumpers one to two feet long including hand tooling to crimp the connectors from DXEngineering.com.
Notes:
1. The class on May 29 will allow each participant to make a one-to-two-foot-long PowerPole Jumper Cable.
2. A second class will be scheduled in the coming months to make a one-to-two-foot-long RG-8X coaxial UHF jumper.
3. A table will be set up on Saturday June 28 at our Field Day site to allow any SMRA member or visitors to make a PowerPole Jumper or Coaxial UHF jumper.
