SMRA Emcomm

Emcomm or Emergency Communications, is a key service offered by the South Mountain Radio Amateurs. SMRA is a special team under the Cumberland County Emergency Management system. We use amateur radio to provide critical communications during emergencies, disasters, and community events. Our services are especially helpful when conventional communication systems are disrupted.

Our Emcomm meetings are on the 2nd Thursday of every month. All those interested in learning more about are welcome to attend! We discuss ongoing Emcomm updates, participate in training exercises, and practice practical skills needed to operate, repair, and maintain radio equipment in the field. Meetings generally take place at the Carlisle EOC, where we meet for our general meetings. However, this can change depending on the topic of the meeting for that month.

Please keep an eye on the event calendar and Facebook page for more information.
