3. Set the Tone (The “Key” to the Repeater)
- Press [MENU] and type 13 (T-CTCS).
- Press [MENU] again to select the setting.
- Use the arrow keys to find 67.0 Hz.
- Press [MENU] to confirm, then [EXIT].
4. Set the Offset (The “Shift”)
- Direction: Press [MENU] and type 25 (SFT-D). Press [MENU], select the minus symbol (-), and press [MENU] to confirm.
- Offset Amount: Press [MENU] and type 26 (OFFSET). Press [MENU], type 000600, and press [MENU] to confirm.
5. Save it to a Channel
- Press [MENU] and type 27 (MEM-CH).
- Press [MENU], select an empty channel number (e.g., 001), and press [MENU] to save.
6. Test your radio
- Press the Push to Talk (PTT) button on the side of your radio. Give it a second or two to connect.
- Call out with your call sign “KD3***” and say “testing” or “radio check”
- If someone is on they will call back and let you know you were heard.
- Feel free to stay on and chat or thank them for confirming.
Congratulations! You are now able to use the repeater! You can follow these same steps to program the other repeaters offered by SMRA.
