Welcome Back, SMRA!
It’s been a while, but I’m happy to bring the club’s newsletter back to life. Whether you’re a longtime member or a new face, this newsletter is your guide to all things SMRA. This edition will be short and sweet, but I’d like to provide useful information in this letter going forward.
What to Expect:
- Club News & Updates: Stay informed about SMRA community involvement, meeting spotlights, and other club achievements.
- On the Air: Highlights from recent QSOs, notable frequencies, and upcoming radio contest! This is where you can contribute your achievements. Send your submissions to KC3VEB@OUTLOOK.COM.
- Upcoming Club Events: Notable events happening in the club in the upcoming months.
April Club News & Updates:
- SMRA Participated in the Red Cross Emergency net on April 5th.
- SMRA helped the Cumberland Valley Radio Club with radio communications for the Marathon runs thru the Michaux forest on Sunday April 6th.
- We had 19 attendees at the SMRA Breakfast on Saturday April 12th. This is one of our highest attendee counts in recent history!
- The monthly club meeting is at 7pm on Tuesday April 15th.
- The first meeting of the SMRA 2025 Field Day Committee is on April 16th at 7pm.
On the Air:
- April 11th through the 16th is the SSTV Series 26 radio event. You can receive SSTV signals from the ISS during this event. Frequency is 145.800MHz. Runs now through 14:30 UTC on April 16th.
- No ARRL Contest are currently schedule for the remainder of April through May.

- SMRA Technician License Class starts Saturday May 3rd.
- QRP Outing @ Lower Allen Park Saturday May 10th
- Michaux Dualsport Bike Race Saturday June 21st
- ARRL 2025 Field Day – June 28th and 29th
