June 23 and 24 2018
All are welcome! Come out and see what we do, how we setup for and emergency and communicate with others all over the country. We will have Nine fully operational stations up and running using Morse Code, Voice, and Digital modes, on all bands 2 meter, 6 meter, 10, 15, 20, 40, and 80 meter. Nine different antennas will be used during the day.
Set up will start June 23th at 8:00 AM and the Contest begins Saturday at 2:00 PM thru Sunday at 2:00 PM. We will use the Cumberland County Emergency Services Training Academy. Just follow the Signs to get to the Field Day site If you are a New Ham or a seasoned Ham operator you should see the hobby at it’s Finest. Every ham should visit a Field Day to witness a participate during this event.
Our objective is to work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding 30,30,17 and 12 meter bands) and to learn to operate in an abnormal situations in less that optimal conditions. Field Day is open to all amateurs in the area covered by the FCC/RAC Field Organizes and countries within IARU Region 2. DX stations residing in other regions may be contacted for credit, but are not eligible to submit entries. We need operators and setup/teardown activities or lust come out and hang with us!. You don’t have to be a club member to participate. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to come out and see how we communicate with other states during a simulated Emergency. N3TWT will be operate from different structures from office trailer to popup tents!
Stop by and you will be amazed at what we can do on short notice in case of a National Emergency!. During such an event infrastructure such as cell and land line telephones, that we all use daily may cease to function. Power failures and many other obstacles prevent the ordinary person from communicating. That will NEVER stop a Ham operator! Even if the Internet goes down we hams have a way to pass messages over a radio based system anywhere in the world within 24 hours during an emergency.
You can see the Equipment we use and sit and listen to what we do on the air and the stations we contact all over USA and Canada! If your comfortable you can even make a contact yourself under a licensed Amateur’s control!
